Crowdfunding Summary

All four reprint projects via Readyfor, A-port, and CAMPFIRE achieved their funding goals. Based on these experiences, we design realistic publishing plans even for small-scale projects.

Interview Archive

We run the “Interview Archive” to collect voices from small museums, archives, and memorial halls.

  • SiteInterview Archive
  • Started:Since Nov 20, 2019
  • Number of museums:17 museums (current)

Purpose

  • Make smaller or lesser-known museums visible through interviews.
  • Share the human stories behind each museum’s origin and exhibitions.
  • Build trust for future collaboration and connection with FieldLink.

What We’ve Done

  • Interviewed directors, curators, and operators of small museums mainly in Tokyo and nearby areas.
  • Organized photos and text into readable pieces that convey each museum’s atmosphere.
  • Published as stories centered on “why this museum exists here,” beyond simple info listings.

Digital Support & Site Projects

For museums, archives, and small organizations, we build websites, lightweight archives, and operational tools.

Examples

  • Official site renewals
  • Restructuring access, services, and news to make updates easier
  • Building “self-updatable” sites with WordPress or custom CMS
  • Workflows so staff can add or edit events and exhibition pages
  • Prototype archives/databases
  • Simple DBs and list views to store basics, images, and notes
  • Cross-media comms paths linking web and print
  • Unified comms flows tying flyers/posters with web and SNS

These learnings shape what we propose in “Museum DX & Ops” and “Audience & Comms” support.

FieldLink Initiatives

FieldLink aims to aggregate info on small museums, connecting “find, learn, and visit.”

Concept & Pilot Steps

  • Concept Launch (2024–)
  • Concept for cross-searching locations, exhibitions, and related books, focusing on smaller museums.
  • Data Planning
  • Defined the data fields FieldLink should handle using interviews and prior research.
  • Demo / Prototype Prep
  • Created demo sites and layouts to share tangible images with museums (internal use).

FieldLink is ongoing; it ties together our publishing, interviews, and digital support as a next step. Content will be updated as we progress.
