About

Carrying cultural records into the future
Our philosophy, company information, and a brief history of Field Archive.

About us

Field Archive is a team that accompanies you from problem framing to delivery across four domains: archives, digital, media, and publishing.

We want the “memories of a region” and “someone’s beginning” held in small museums and single books to reach the next generation. We see it as our mission to record, convey, and support the activities that pass these on.

Philosophy

Turn the wisdom of those before us into power today.
Carry cultural records into the future.

We value the following:

  • Respect for culture
We treat every document and record as a cultural asset holding the memories of people and places.
  • Practical, sustainable systems
We co-create rules and workflows that fit the team size and structure, so they can be maintained.
  • Small steps, steady progress
Rather than changing everything at once, we build lasting systems through incremental improvements.

Services (overview)

We work in four domains; details are on the “Services” page.

  1. Archives support (Archives)
Organizing records, designing metadata, digitizing, and building searchable archives.
  2. Museum DX & operations support (Digital)
Internalizing web updates, organizing workflows, and supporting multilingual / accessibility needs.
  3. Outreach & media support (Media)
Planning outreach for exhibits/events, operating SNS/newsletters, and integrating with FieldLink.
  4. Publishing & reprint support (Publishing)
    Reprinting out-of-print books/records, editing catalogs/reports, and supporting small-lot publishing end-to-end.
